EU citizens and citizens of the USA and Canada do not need visas to enter Bosnia-Herzegovina, but ensure your passport is valid before you travel as you will need it at the border, whether entering the country over land or through an airport. For other countries, entry requirements can be stricter, including proof of cash assets and/or HIV test results. However, in most cases, border control is not nearly so tough – check with your embassy to ensure you have all the necessary documents before you travel. Lists of Bosnia-Herzegovina’s embassies can be found online at embassyworld.com.
Officially, all those who enter Bosnia-Herzegovina by air must complete a landing card which will be checked and stamped on arrival at the airport, and all those who enter over land must have a valid green card. However, in practice security is not stringent and these extra security measures are rare.
