Since Madagascar is a poor country with limited facilities, the authorities are very keen on getting volunteers from abroad. There are many opportunities in Madagascar for voluntary work, and some of these can be found on the Volunteer Abroad website. For example, it is possible to get involved in a Conservation project in a nature reserve. Alternatively, for those who don’t like long walks and much physical effort, it is possible to teach English in the main cities of the island, such as Antananarivo.
