NEW ZEALAND

Best trip ever! Hands down. I just finished a Magic Bus trip in December, it was amazing. You can do or see pretty much everything with them. I'm 21 and female, and I felt completely safe travelling the country alone with them. I really enjoyed the Beautiful beaches plus any adventure type thing you would want to do. NZ has to be the Best place for bungee-jumping in the world. I love how LOTR was filmed here, as well as Narnia!
So much to do and see! I can't wait to go back. Definitely check them out. Everyone was super friendly and I had tons of options - where to sleep, travel, deals on things to do. The bus drivers are really awesome and really know their stuff.

I had an awesome time in New Zealand. I spent the first few weeks in Auckland at a great hostel down on fort street called the Fat Camel, this place had the best atmosphere ever. When I returned to Auckland I spent a night in the Fusion Flashpackers and to be honest it wasn't worth the extra $2!! No atmosphere, rude staff and not a wink sleep due to the so called nightclub.

Spent 4 weeks in the NZ... The best word of advice is to ride the Flying kiwi bus tour!!! I think they have a web site you can check out.... also rent a car on the south island and tour around the northeast edge of the coast line... Awesome trip, great for singles and couples...

Information about travelling to Rotorua in the North Island and staying at Kiwi Paka on 60 Tarewa Road.

I stayed in a twin private Chalet - Chalets being the most expensive (and I assumed best) accommodation on the premises. The shower had no pressure and was either freezing or boiling. I asked the reception staff to fix it. When I returned to the hostel in the evening it wasn't fixed, a lady at reception said she sent the maintenance guy over and the shower's working fine and I just need to learn how to use it. When I said I've been using showers for 25 years she replied she's done her utmost best, that she knows nothing about showers and if the maintenance guy says it's ok there's nothing more she can do (although she never went to check herself).

The ceilings are paper thin and sleeping is impossible when people walk or make noise upstairs. The kitchen's much too small for the amount of people staying there, and unlike normal hostels that provide all the utensils and cutlery, you get a tray that you have to pick up and return every time you want to eat something, but, the people at reception will continue answering the phones and doing work on the computer even if you've been standing there for 10 minutes. They'll just keep answering phone calls and you won't get a chance to speak until the phone stops ringing, which is quite ironic as I'd been told to call back later when I originally called to book. I decided not to stay a further night and the staff sneered at me when I was getting my key deposit back.

New Zealand was so great, everywhere you went there were mountains and breathtaking scenery! South Island was awesome, you have to make a glacier climb/hike a must!! Definately the highlight.
