Does anyone has any advice on how to get from Rome to Switzerland? We will be over in Rome in July for a few weeks and really want to go to Switzerland but can't seem to find anything on how to travel? Help please!

I asked a friend if she would like a pizza and getting the affirmative took her to the eternal city. Roman folk were brilliant but spoilt by high incidence of pickpocketing by immigrant. Did the Trevi Fountain, Sistine Chapel, Vatican, Spanish Steps and more. If you want a romantic evening meal there is a restaurant on the top floor of a Hotel (ask a Roman) superb views over the Basillica, food fantastic and the service was the best. I've just convinced myself to go back - great memories.

In response to Renato Teglia, I LOVED Italy. As a single female backpacker it was very easy to get around, people were quite friendly, compared to other EU countries. There is crime in every country and Italy is no different, I'd recommend it to others definitely.

Warn tourists of the very present danger of crime. One should never go backpacking alone and women are recommended to always be accompanied by a male or even 2 male persons when walking the streets and NEVER at night. Unfortunately this is what Italy has to offer today.

Hated Florence - dirty, noisey, expensive, rude Italians. Assisi and Rome not so bad but Italians should realise there are lots of other places to go- so be a bit more welcoming to tourists and don't rip them off.

Loved Italy! Backpacked for a couple of weeks, would recommend it to anyone, esspecially those backpacking for the first time. Make sure you don't miss Pompeii, Pisa, Venice and Lago di Como (Lake Como). Oh - and obviously Rome!
